  4. I hope Stickies will be worth being on your desktop and help you remind important things.

  6. Stickies was designed for Windows 3.x systems but also runs on Windows 95 without
  7. limitations. There is also a 32-Bit version specifically designed for Windows 95 called
  8. stcky32.

  23. Description of the program:
  24.  
  25. Stickies are desktop notes that will help you to remind important things to do.
  26. The notes are fully sizeable. To control your notes there will be a sort of toolbar
  27. where you can select the different functions.
  28.  
  29. 1. Functions:
  30.  
  31. - The notes are fully sizeable. The text each note can hold is limited to 2000 characters.
  32.  
  33. - You can minimize each note and it will be displayed as an icon or in the Windows
  34.   95 taskbar. If you minimize the toolbar all notes will be hidden and there will be
  35.   only the icon of the toolbar visible.
  36.  
  37. - Deleting notes: The button in the upper right hand corner of the note is used to
  38.   delete the note. Or select the respective button on the toolbar.
  39.  
  40.   Caution: You can change the default settings so that you won't be prompted after
  41.            you clicked the delete button. In this case the note will immediately be
  42.            deleted!
  43.  
  44. - if you move the cursor over one of the buttons on the toolbar, a help text will be
  45.   shown to indicate the function of the button:
  46.  
  47.   a) 'new' will generate a new note - with the background and foreground colors,
  48.      font and fontsize you selected.
  49.  
  50.   b) 'delete active stickie' will delete the stickie/note that is currently active.
  51.  
  52.     Caution: You can change the default settings so that you won't be prompted
  53.          after you clicked the delete button. In this case the note will
  54.          immediately be deleted!

  56.    c) 'save settings' will save all stickies and other settings.
  57.  
  58.     Note: On exit of the application all settings will also be saved.
  59.  
  60.    d) 'set alarm' a window will show up which allows you to select a date for an alarm
  61.       (click on 'Date' to get a calendar) and to input a time for the alarm. You can
  62.       also specify a certain number of minutes that the alarm will ring earlier (than
  63.       the selected alarm time).

  65.    e) 'activate always on top'/'deactivate always on top' will keep the note on top of
  66.       all other windows respectively deactivate this feature if it was previously
  67.       selected.

  69.    f) 'change settings' a window is displayed where you can set the colors and fonts,
  70.       select the language and further options.

  72.       'dock base on stickie' means, when selected the toolbar will always attach itself
  73.       to the active stickie/note. If deselected the toolbar can be moved to a position
  74.       on the screen and will stay there.

  76.    g) 'about Stickies' will bring up the author and version information.

  78.    h) 'exit stickies' will save all settings and stickies/notes and exit the application.

  81. This version also comes with a free desktop calendar 'CLNDR.EXE' whch is installed in the
  82. same directory as Stickies.
